Anodised Aluminum

Aluminium's is a metal that responds to anodising which creates even greater flexibility in its colour and hue and adds a robust and hard wearing finish. Anodising is the conversion of a metal creating a protective film of Aluminium oxide.
The natural oxide film is induced by passing an electric current through dilute Sulphuric Acid with the Aluminium part as the anode. The entire process usually involves a chemical pre-clean, and immersion in a chemical to give the required finish. Anodising also allows colouring of the oxidised metal.
We can supply anodised panels that benefit from the hard wearing coating that the process delivers. These products tend to be used on exclusive developments, for specific aspects of a building or areas that need to be particularly durable. Panels are preformed before being anodised and there are limitations to the maximum size due to the complex process. The aluminium that is suitable for this treatment is of a specific composition. We use leading UK anodising companies Haywood and LHT.
